In 2019, TEDA (Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area) will join with JD Group to integrate their superior resources to hold the 2019 JD.COM Cup—The Sixth TEDA Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge. Based on the general requirement of serving the real economy by innovation and entrepreneurship, the contest will actively integrate the superior resources, such as leading enterprises, scientific research institutions, colleges and universities, and innovation platforms, to unblock the exchange channels between demand enterprises and technological achievements, and stimulate entrepreneurs' creative vitality and passion for innovation and entrepreneurship. The contest will last for the whole year, becoming an “everlasting innovation contest".


The contest will select the enterprises with technical demands as the topic setting units, and the technical demands with strong technical features, high social benefits, good display effects, and anticipated achievements, as the contest topics, around the new generation of information technology, intelligent equipment, energy conservation and environmental protection, bio-medicine and other key industries. In view of technology demands, technology holders with innovation capabilities and successful cases will be recruited globally to provide demand solutions for technology demanders.




The year-round contest is divided into two phases, the first phase is from April to June 2019,
and the second phase is from July to November 2019. The first phase is scheduled as follows:

1. Launching and release of the contest

The contest will be launched in China and overseas at the same in early April, with the contest topic for the first phase released, and the contest registration system opened.

2. Contest promotion and registration

The contest committee will promote the contest by using online and offline resources and channels at home and abroad. During the period, participants may enter the registration system through the special registration channel to register for the contest at any time.

3. Preliminary qualification examination and preliminary contest

The contest committee will conduct preliminary qualification examinations to the participating teams who have successfully signed up and submitted demand solutions. For the entries that pass the preliminary examination, the contest committee will organize the representative of topic setting enterprises, industry experts, and representative of investment institutions to set up an evaluation group to evaluate the entries in line with the review rules for each contest topic. For each contest topic, the top five teams achieving the passing score can enter the finals.

4. Deadline for
preliminary competition and shortlist

Deadline for submission of the plan: May 31, 2019;
the finalists will be announced in early June 2019.

5. Stage finals and awarding ceremony

The teams getting to the finals will display their demand solutions as required by the contest committee. The contest committee will invite experts to discuss and review the demand solutions submitted by the participating teams in groups according to the contest topic, formulate the scoring rules according to the actual needs of each contest topic, mark and rank the 5 teams played in the finals, and determine the final result of each contest topic. The award ceremony will mainly show the results of technical cooperation.
